Protect + Prevent FAQ

  • Is it just for flooring? No!  It is for all surfaces, walls, doors, desks, computers… it is even NSF listed for Food Service.

  • How long does vital oxide take to start working?  It starts working right away and kills most bacteria and viruses within 5 to 10 minutes.

  • How long does vital oxide last once sprayed?  It will stop the spread of harmful germs and bacteria that are currently in the room, but it won't stop future re-contamination. We will work with you to develop a frequency that is best suited for your environment.

  • What does it kill?  It kills 99.999% of bacteria and viruses, including H1N1; MRSA; Norovirus; HIV; Legionella; Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Hepatitis A, B, and C; Ebola virus.  Here is a complete list.

  • Is it harmful to breathe in? Will it irritate skin? No, it is non-irritating to skin, EPA registered and NSF listed for food service.

  • Does it smell?  It smells a little bit like a swimming pool.

  • Is it bleach or chlorine? No. While chlorine dioxide has chlorine in its name, its chemistry is very different from the corrosive chemistry of chlorine bleach. The primary differences are that chlorine dioxide is less caustic, safer, and gentler than bleach and many other antiseptics and antimicrobials, plus it remains effective under organic load.

  • Are there any studies or testing proving its effects?  Yes, quite a bit of testing.
